Asyad Group's First International Move: Acquisition of Skybridge Freight Solutions

Asyad Group, Oman’s prominent global logistics provider, has announced its acquisition of Skybridge Freight Solutions (SFS), a leading global freight forwarding company. This strategic move marks Asyad’s inaugural international acquisition in its core logistics operations, significantly expanding its global footprint. The acquisition provides Asyad with access to SFS’s extensive network, which spans over 90 countries across six continents, and strengthens its presence in crucial trade hubs and major economies, including China, India, the USA, and the GCC.

Ziyad bin Abdullah al Harbi, Vice-President of Strategic Planning at Asyad Group, emphasized that the acquisition will enhance Asyad’s ability to penetrate global markets and diversify its service offerings. He noted that this expansion is expected to positively impact the logistics sector’s contribution to GDP and create new opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises within the industry.

Skybridge Freight Solutions, renowned for its comprehensive freight forwarding services—encompassing air, sea, and land transport, as well as warehousing and distribution—serves over 1,400 clients, including Fortune 500 and blue-chip companies. The company’s strong financial stability and extensive network of global freight forwarding relationships provide it with a significant competitive advantage.

With this acquisition, Asyad aims to strengthen its global competitiveness by enhancing its multimodal logistics capabilities and addressing evolving customer demands. The integration of SFS’s capabilities is expected to drive advancements across various sectors of the logistics ecosystem, including supply chain management, e-commerce, ports, and container lines.
