Abu Dhabi Approves $17.7 Billion Budget for Capital Projects and Cultural Advancements

In a recent meeting chaired by His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, a budget exceeding AED 65 billion ($17.7 billion) for new capital projects was approved.
The Crown Prince also issued directives to advance the Emirati culture and heritage ecosystem within the emirate.
The go-ahead for the 2024 budget underscores the commitment to infrastructural development, as Sheikh Khaled emphasized the importance of fostering a sustainable community environment.
During the meeting, he urged a concentrated effort to conserve Emirati heritage and uphold national identity.
This includes raising awareness of national traditions, empowering local talent, and embedding UAE cultural heritage among the youth.
Projects within the approved budget are meticulously designed to align with the aspirations of the citizens, reflecting the leadership's dedication to ensuring the stability and cohesion of Emirati society.
The Crown Prince highlighted the ongoing priority placed on initiatives that drive infrastructural development.
Sheikh Khaled also issued directives to further develop a sustainable cultural heritage ecosystem in Abu Dhabi.

"Preliminary steps are being taken to ensure the preservation of national heritage and the nurturing of Emirati traditions, as we firmly believe that heritage is essential for building both the present and the future," stated the Crown Prince.

In addition to cultural advancements, Sheikh Khaled was briefed on plans to establish the Abu Dhabi Hazardous Materials Management Centre.
This center aims to develop an effective framework for handling hazardous materials, ensuring coordination among relevant authorities and enhancing planning and response efforts in line with international best practices.
