Turkish investment platform Midas announced it has secured $80 million in a Series B funding round. This brings the total amount of investment the company has received to date to $140 million.

QED Investors, a U.S. fintech-focused venture capital firm, has led a new investment in TeamApt, a Nigerian fintech that provides business payments and banking platforms. The investment was over $50 million, according to sources familiar with the matter, though neither QED nor TeamApt would confirm the figure.
Existing investors from the company’s Series B last year (Crunchbase pegs it at $30 million+) — Novastar Ventures (co-lead), Lightrock and BII — all participated in this round.
While TeamApt wouldn’t prescribe any “letter” to this latest round, it can perhaps be described as a pre-Series C round because sources say the company is still in the market to raise a Series C next year.

QED makes its first African investment, backing Nigerian fintech TeamApt in $50M+ deal

TeamApt, a Nigerian fintech startup, has raised more than $50 million in its most recent funding to expand its credit offerings.
According to TechCrunch, TeamApt is not assigning a “letter” to this round. However, it could be classified as a pre-Series C round because, according to sources, the company is still looking to raise a Series C in 2023.
The round was co-led by QED Investors and Novastar Ventures. Other investors, including Lightrock and BII, took part.

Nigerian fintech, TeamApt, raises over $50 million to expand its credit offerings

Cape Town, South Africa (Sept. 26, 2023). ‍Revio, the payment orchestration platform helping merchants optimise their order to cash lifecycle, today announced a seed investment round of $5.2 million. The funding round was led by leading fintech fund QED Investors, joined by Partech and continued participation from Revio’s existing investors, Speedinvest, RaliCap, and Everywhere VC.

This is the second round of funding that Revio has received in the last 12 months. In November, it secured $1.1 million in pre-seed funding from investors, including Speedinvest, Ralicap and Everywhere VC. These investors wrote follow-on checks in the QED-led seed round, joined by growth-stage pan-African VC Partech.

QED and Partech back South African payment orchestration platform Revio in $5.2M seed

FlapKap, a UAE-based fintech platform offering revenue-based financing solutions, has raised $34 million through a combination of debt and equity funding, bringing its total funding to $37.6 million.

The fundraising round was led by BECO Capital with new investment from Pact VC, said FlapKap, which was originally established in Egypt, according to a company statement.

The round also witnessed participation from existing investors, including A15, Nclude, and QED Investors, alongside debt financing from Channel Capital.

The proceeds of the funding round will be used to expand FlapKap’s capabilities in the UAE and GCC region, deploying more capital to empower small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the space and helping them maximise their growth potential.

Remedial Health, a healthtech startup that develops solutions to make Africa’s pharmaceutical value chain more efficient, has secured $12 million in an equity and debt funding round to deepen the penetration of its services in Nigeria and support the delivery of targeted financial services to drive business growth across the country’s pharmaceutical sector.
The $8 million Series A equity funding round was led by US-based venture capital firm, QED Investors and co-led by Ventures Platform, who have now invested in Remedial Health at every funding round since the pre-seed stage.
This investment also represents Ventures Platform’s first Series A investment. Ycombinator, Tencent and Gaingels also invested after participating in previous rounds. The $4 million debt funding was led by a consortium of local and international financial institutions.

Remedial Health Raises $12m to Deliver Financial Services For Neighbourhood Pharmacies and Drive Deeper Growth in Nigeria

Nigerian healthtech startup, Remedial Health, has raised $12 million in Series A funding — $8 million in equity and $4 million in debt — to expand the reach of its services in the country.
The company will also use the funds to support the delivery of targeted financial services to drive business growth across Nigeria’s pharmaceutical sector.
QED Investors and Ventures Platform co-led the equity funding round. While this is the former’s second investment in an African startup, the latter has invested in Remedial Health since the pre-seed stage. It is also Ventures Platform’s first Series A investment.
Gaingels, Tencent, and Ycombinator participated after taking part in earlier rounds.
A consortium of local and international financial institutions led the $4 million debt financing.
