Saudi-based on-demand payment and spend management platform Sanad Cash, Inc. has raised a $1.6 million Seed round with participation from Impact46 seed fund, BIM ventures, Hala ventures, Derayah ventures, and a distinguished list of angel investors in KSA.

Sanad Cash was founded in 2020 by Sultan Alhugail, Mahmoud Iswiad, and Shorhabel Ghoneim and they are batch one alumni from Sanabil 500 accelerator. Sanad Cash offers small to medium-sized businesses (SMBS) and corporates a SaaS platform to help them track all of their spendings, and initiate on-demand payments for employees and others with just a few clicks.

“Sanad Cash vision is to introduce one a stop shop for all SMBs day to day financials by offering them global standard digital tools at a reasonable cost. Our partnerships with existing financial institutions will help us to introduce what we call an all-in-one new financial system that includes a corporate card, a spend management software, and a business account in one easy dashboard,” Says Mahmoud Iswiad, co-founder and CEO of Sanad Cash. 

“SMBs are the nerve of our economy and they represent not less than 90 per cent of business and more than 50 per cent of the employment in Saudi Arabia. The popular Saudi-based FinTech and digital POS provider CashIn has managed to successfully raise about $1.6M in a funding round. The funding seed round was led by some of the most popular key investors including BIM Ventures along with a wide number of angel investors as well.

In the first half of the year, it was marked as the highest amount of FinTech fundraising period that happened literally within 6 months across the MENA region.

At present, the Saudi fintech startup provides digital payment solutions, virtual points of sale, and other payment features to businesses who are looking to manage sales in an integrated platform. The news of the latest funding comes as the Kingdom gears up to implement the latest e-invoicing rule with CashIn partnering with the government sector to fully comply with it.

Saudi Arabia-headquartered virtual payment and point-of-sale (POS) solutions provider CashIn has reportedly acquired SAR 6 million (appr. $1.6 million) in capital through a seed round.

CashIn’s investment round has been led by investor Mine. Saudi venture capital firm BIM Ventures also took part in the round along with several angel investors.

This recent round will allow Cashing to expand its network, partner with banks and other stakeholders.

With CashIn partnering with the government sector to fully comply with it, it comes as a new e-invoicing rule in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is set to be implemented, the digital payment solutions start-up said in a statement.

“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is undergoing rapid growth in the Fin-Tech and technology sectors in comparison to other countries, and we are keen on CashIn to adapt to these fast-paced changes in parallel with Saudi’s 2030 vision”, said Omar Al-Rammah its chief executive officer.

The seed round was led by BIM Ventures and a number of angel investors, the start-up said.

Saudi Arabia is focusing on the digitalization of its financial sector. The Saudi government approved licenses for two digital banks in the Kingdom in June, with one owned by telecommunications giant STC.
