Wellx, the UAE-based InsurTech platform focused on health and wellness, has completed a $2 million seed funding round to fuel its growth and innovation in new technologies.

The investment, led by the Dubai Future District Fund, will enable the startup to promote regional growth, drive technological innovation, and create healthier, happier, and more resilient communities.

The round witnessed participation from MENA-focused DASH Ventures, Annex Investments and Saudi Arabia-based 500 Global and Sanabil Investments, as well as international VC’s, including Aditum Investments, Loyal VC, and Plug and Play Ventures, in addition to angel investors with significant experience in the healthcare sector.

This fundraising will fuel Wellx's growth, enabling continued innovation in new technologies like AI coaching, intuitive design, and emerging tech. Wellx aims to disrupt the insurance industry and offer personalized insurance experiences.

"The funding empowers us to accelerate our growth plans and expand our customer base across the region," said Vaibhav Kashyap, co-founder and CEO of Wellx.

UAE-Based Wellx Secures $2M Seed Funding To Accelerate Growth And Technological Innovation

UAE-based femtech startup Ovasave, backed by Abu Dhabi’s Hub71, has raised $1.2 million in pre-seed funding from regional and international investors. The round was led by PlusVC, Annex Investments, and 25 Madison, with participation from strategic angel investors and family offices in the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Founded in 2023 by Majd Abu Zant and Torkia Mahloul, Ovasave offers a digital-first platform for fertility and hormonal health, combining at-home hormone testing, virtual consultations, personalised supplement protocols, and egg-freezing support. The company also partners with corporates to integrate fertility and hormone care into employee well-being benefits.

The $1.2 million raise will fuel Ovasave’s expansion into Saudi Arabia and across the GCC, support the scaling of corporate partnerships, and fund the next phase of its mobile app development.

Ovasave is positioned to address critical women's health issues, particularly in fertility and hormonal care, amid increasing investor interest and a supportive regulatory environment in the UAE. The startup also focuses on public education and workplace awareness initiatives to normalize discussions around fertility, aiming to shift women's health from reactive to proactive care.

UAE’s Ovasave Bags $1.2M to Target Fertility & Menopause Care

UAE-based fintech Holo has announced a seven-figure Seed round, led by Saudi Arabia’s Watheeq Proptech Venture and Hambro Perks Oryx Fund, with participation from Dubai Future District Fund (DFDF), Annex Investments, and Tawaref Angel Network.  
Launched in 2019 by Michael Hunter and Arran Summerhill, Holo aims to simplify the process of owning a home by offering digital mortgage services, where buyers and homeowners can explore refinancing options. The new funding will fuel Holo’s expansion plans into the KSA, set to take place in 2023. Holo is a Wamda Capital portfolio company.

Saudi Arabia-based foodtech startup Barakah has raised a $1.5 million Seed round led by Hambro Perks Oryx Fund, with participation from 500 Global, +VC, KAUST Innovation Ventures, Annex Investments, and angel investors.
Founded in 2021 by Rabah Habiss, Munira Al Muammar, and Abdulaziz Al Saud, Barakah helps restaurants, bakeries, and groceries fight food waste by enabling them to sell their surplus inventory through its app. In the span of 10 months, Baraka helped its partners deliver 100,000 meals.
Barakah currently covers Riyadh and Jeddah, with plans to expand to other cities in Saudi Arabia on the back of the recently-acquired funds, which will also help the startup improve its product offering.
