Media technology company Amagi announced Friday $100 million to further develop its cloud-based SaaS technology for broadcast and connected televisions.

Accel, Avataar Ventures and Norwest Venture Partners joined existing investor Premji Invest in the funding round, which included buying out stakes held by Emerald Media and Mayfield Fund. Nadathur Holdings continues as an existing investor. The latest round gives Amagi total funding raised to date of $150 million, Baskar Subramanian, co-founder and CEO of Amagi, told TechCrunch.

Amagi, a cloud SaaS technology provider for broadcast and streaming television, is the latest entrant to India's growing startup unicorn club, with a $95 million fundraise led by Accel.

Existing investors Norwest Venture Partners and Avataar Ventures also participated in the round. A unicorn is a privately held startup valued at a billion dollars or more. This fundraise brings the company's total financing to more than $245 million to date.

These usually involve a much smaller number spread across a variety of investors, but Accel saw something in BrowserStack, a mobile and browser testing platform, that’s a bit too successful to warrant the usual early-round startup label.

ChargeBee, a Chennai-based startup that helps companies manage their subscription billings, has raised around $800,000 in a Series A funding from Accel Partners. This brings ChargeBee’s total funding to $1.17 million, including the $370K it had raised in seed funding during October 2012.

The startup has closed a $5 million Series B round led by the New York-headquartered investment fund, with participation from previous backer Accel — which put together ChargeBee’s $800,000 Series A round last year.

Chargebee, a Chennai, India, and San Francisco, CA-based provider of a SaaS subscription management and recurring billing solution, secured $18m in Series C funding.

The round, which brings total funding to $24.7m, was led by New York-based Insight Venture Partners with participation from previous investors Accel Partners and Tiger Global Management. In conjunction with the funding, Harley Miller, Vice President at Insight Venture Partners, will be joining the board.

Chargebee, a San Francisco, CA-based subscription management platform, raised $14M in Series D funding.

The round, which brings the total funds raised to date to $38.2m, was led by Steadview Capital with participation from existing investors Insight Venture Partners and Accel.

Fintech startup Oolka has successfully raised ₹130 crore (approximately $13.8 million) in a Series A funding round led by Accel India, with contributions from existing investors Lightspeed and Z47, as well as personal investments from Meesho co-founders. This funding will be utilized for the company's expansion and capital expenditure. Oolka, founded in 2024, offers an AI-powered credit management platform aimed at helping users improve their credit health and currently has around 2 million users. The company, which is valued at ₹730 crore ($87.6 million) post-money, was previously in a pre-revenue stage with minimal reported income and losses. Its main competitor is GoodScore, which also focuses on AI-driven credit improvement.

Fintech Startup Oolka Secures $13.8M Series A Funding

Pramaana Labs, a Palo Alto-based AI startup, has raised $27 million in a seed funding round led by Khosla Ventures. The company plans to use the capital to advance its formal verification technology, which aims to ensure the accuracy of AI-generated answers in regulated sectors.

Tata-backed fitness startup CureFit has raised around $145 Mn (INR 1,088) Cr led by Zomato along with San Francisco-based South Park Commons at a valuation of $1.4 Bn.

Singapore’s Temasek and Accel Partners also participated in the fresh round. 

As part of this round, Zomato has infused INR 750 Cr, South Park has invested INR 75 Cr, Accel Partners invested INR 37.5 Cr and Temasek invested INR 187.5 Cr. 

Zomato’s infusion was reported in early November when the foodtech giant had announced its quarterly earnings. The foodtech giant sold fitness facility arm Fitso to CureFit for $50 Mn.

Additionally, it invested another $50 Mn in the fintech unicorn. In the cross-selling, Zomato had acquired a total shareholding of 6.4%, worth $100 Mn in the fitness startup.

This appears to be the first-ever investment of South Park Commons in India. However, its partner Aditya Aggarwal had invested in Kavin Mittal’s Hike.

Founder Mukesh Bansal (invested INR 5 Cr) along with Paras Sanghvi and Apurva Doshi also invested in this round, regulatory filings accessed by Inc42 showed.

Founded in 2016 by Mukesh Bansal and Ankit Nagori, CureFit runs physical fitness platform Cultfit, mental fitness (Mindfit), and a primary care vertical (Care.fit).

CureFit is present in 21 cities across the country and plans to reach over 50 cities by FY22.

Exclusive: CureFit Raises $145 Mn From Temasek, South Park Commons, Zomato

Fitness startup Curefit is raising INR 831.95 Cr ($110 Mn) in a Series D2 funding round led by Singapore-based investment firm Temasek. The offer to raise the Series D2 funding was approved on March 11.

Accel Partners, Epiq Capital, Unilever Swiss, Gabelhorn Investment, PraTithi Organic Foods, Satyadharma Investment, Ascent Private Equity, Castle Island, McGovern Family Trust and Julia Dhar of Boston Consulting Group (BCG) will also be participating in the round. Besides this, Chiratae Ventures will also be investing in the Curefit through its Fund IV and Vistra ITCL.

Curefit Bags $110 Mn From Temasek, Accel Partners and Others

Bengaluru-based health and fitness startup Cure.fit on Tuesday announced that it has closed a total of $120 million in its Series D round. The startup had raised $75 million in April 2019 and an additional $45 million now. The round, which is a mix of equity and debt funding, is led by Chiratae Ventures (formerly IDG Ventures), Accel Partners, Kalaari Capital, and Oaktree Capital. New investors Epiq Capital, Unilever Ventures, Innoven Capital, and Kotak Mahindra Bank also participated in the funding round.

Bengaluru-based health and fitness platform Cure.fit has raised $120 million in Series-C round of funding. IDG Ventures, Kalaari Capital, Accel Partners, Oaktree Capital, and Chiratae Ventures participated. A press release from the company has stated that this amount will be used in the development of their technology, with focus on AI in health planning. The company also plans to launch its own fitness wearables. Following highly funded startups like OYO Rooms and Ola Cabs going abroad, Curefit is also looking at foreign markets and plans to expand to South West Asian countries in the next 12-15 months. Curefit was planned as an amalgam of mental wellness, physical fitness and a balanced diet for an integrated approach to preventive and curative healthcare. Curefit integrates four verticals that work together to ensure the holistic wellbeing of their users: physical fitness via Cult.fit, mental wellbeing via Mind.fit, healthy eating via Eat.fit; and personalised healthcare solutions via Care.fit. What differentiates Cure.fit from other players in the market is that it drives its preventive healthcare philosophy through engagement, coaching and delivery, using a combination of online and offline channels.

Fitness startup Curefit raises $120 M in Series-C round of funding

CureFit, started by former Myntra and Flipkart executives Mukesh Bansal and Ankit Nagori earlier this year, announced on Monday that it had raised $15 million from Accel Partners, IDG Ventures and Kalaari Capital. To be launched in 2017, CureFit will be a platform that will enable users to manage their health proactively through a gamut of service offerings.

Curefit aims to be an innovative combination of engagement, coaching and delivery, through a mix of online and offline channels. The startup believes that both experiences seamlessly integrated will provide end-to-end proactive health management to consumers. Through this solution, consumers will be able to enjoy better quality of life, reduce the probability of falling sick and significantly reduce risks for long-term chronic diseases.
