Saudi Arabia M&A: What is the Trend in Transactions Through the Years?

Saudi Arabia has witnessed 229 M&A transactions from 2017 till mid-2022.
The country has witnessed more than 30 transactions through majority of the years except for 2017.
Except for 2020, which was impacted by Covid’19, 2018-19 and 2021 saw close to 50 transactions per year.
Five-months into 2022, 18 transactions have been completed, with optimistic expectations for approximately 50 transactions to be completed again.
