As Q3 2025 concludes, the venture capital ecosystem across the Middle East, Africa, Pakistan, and Turkey (MEAPT) is undergoing a dramatic transformation. Despite fewer deals, MEAPT VC funding 2025 reached new heights signaling a shift toward larger, more concentrated capital deployment.

By September 2025, startups across the MEAPT region raised US$11.86 billion, a 53.9% jump from US$7.71 billion in Q3 2024 and surpassing the US$8.26 billion achieved in Q3 2023. This marks the highest year-to-date total in at least three years. However, deal volume tells a different story with only 820 transactions recorded. It representing a 51.3% decline from 2023 and the sharpest annual drop in recent history.

Sectoral and Geographic Shifts in MEAPT VC Funding 2025

The top 10 startup deals in September underscore the growing importance of scale, innovation, and strategic alignment with national economic visions:

  1. Saudi fintech Hala led the month’s funding with a massive US$157 million Series B round. The company will channel the funds into expanding its embedded finance ecosystem for SMEs and freelancers.
  2. UAE-based CredibleX secured a major US$100 million debt round to expand its SME loan book and deepen partnerships with regional financial institutions.
  3. AI-security lab Irregular raised US$80 million in a Series A, building next-generation defenses to safeguard AI systems, focusing on simulation platforms that predict and prevent emerging threats.
  4. Cybersecurity firm Remedio raised US$65 million to expand globally and enhance its automated remediation platform.
  5. With backing from Accel, Vega Security’s US$60 million Series A round will fuel U.S. expansion and further development of its AI-native security analytics system.
  6. Deep data analytics firm ProteanTecs landed US$51 million to scale predictive monitoring for electronics.
  7. Saudi Arabia’s Lendo secured US$50 million to expand its Shariah-compliant lending platform for SMEs.
  8. Cybersecurity startup Koi raised US$48 million across its early rounds. The company helps organizations govern self-provisioned enterprise software and secure shadow IT environments.
  9. AI-powered pricing engine Fetcherr closed a US$42 million round to scale its real-time pricing platform.
  10. Rounding out the top ten, Sola Security raised US$35 million to advance its no-code AI cybersecurity platform.

Macroeconomic Context and Investor Outlook

Globally, economic conditions remain mixed. The IMF projects global growth to decelerate from 3.3% in 2024 to 3.2% in 2025, and further to 3.1% in 2026. While advanced economies are slowing to 1.5%, emerging markets, including MEAPT, are expected to grow above 4%, though unevenly.

In this environment, MEAPT VC funding 2025 reflects both caution and conviction. With inflation moderating and financial conditions tightening, investors are recalibrating toward structured funding instruments and later-stage investments. Startups with established market traction are absorbing a larger share of available capital, leading to fewer but bigger rounds.

Beyond MEAPT VC Funding 2025

As Q4 2025 begins, all eyes are on whether MEAPT can sustain this momentum in deal value while reigniting early-stage activity. The headline numbers are encouraging, but without a rebound in deal flow, the region risks a narrower startup pipeline heading into 2026.

Still, the fundamentals remain strong. From fintech in Riyadh and Dubai to cybersecurity in Tel Aviv and renewables in Nairobi, the MEAPT region continues to prove that innovation thrives and the rise in MEAPT VC funding 2025 is more than a recovery. It’s a redefinition of how capital is deployed strategically, selectively, and with an eye toward long-term impact.
