25 February 2026•

Top 10 funding rounds in January 2026 in MEAPT, listing companies, amounts, countries, funding types, and industries.

Venture capital funding across the Middle East, Africa, Pakistan, and Turkey (MEAPT) crossed $2 billion in January 2026, setting a strong tone for the year.

However, the headline figure is highly concentrated. A single transaction from HUMAIN’s $1.2 billion debt financing accounted for more than half of the total capital deployed during the month.

Beyond the mega-round, the top 10 deals highlight continued investor appetite for AI, FinTech, DevOps, cybersecurity, mobility, and FoodTech, with debt financing playing a significant role alongside venture equity.

The $1.2B AI Infrastructure Bet

  • HUMAIN led the ranking with a landmark $1.2 billion debt financing. Backed by the Public Investment Fund, the financing marks one of the largest AI-focused capital deployments in the region to date and reinforces Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 digital ambitions.

  • Mal raised $230 million in seed funding to build an AI-native, mobile-first digital banking platform targeting underbanked communities. Still pre-launch, the Abu Dhabi-based startup is positioning itself at the intersection of ethical finance and AI-powered infrastructure.

  • Torq raised $140 million in Series D funding to expand its AI-driven security operations platform, which uses autonomous agents to automate incident detection and response for enterprise SOC teams.

  • Factify secured $63 million in seed funding to reinvent business documents for the AI era. Its “intelligent records” embed governance, identity, and machine-readable logic directly into digital documents.

  • Kitopi raised $50 million in growth capital. The managed cloud kitchen platform partners with F&B brands to scale delivery operations across the GCC. The new funding supports regional expansion following the company’s profitability milestone.

  • Mylo completed a $37 million debt securitization to expand its Shariah-compliant digital installment and BNPL platform, serving Egypt’s fast-growing consumer finance market.

  • Memcyco closed a $37 million Series A round to expand its client-side cybersecurity platform, which protects enterprises from phishing, impersonation, and browser-based fraud attacks in real time.

  • GoCab raised $30 million in structured debt to scale its drive-to-own mobility financing platform for gig-economy drivers across Africa, blending fintech and vehicle access.

  • JeelPay closed a $25 million round led by BlackRock, leveraging AI to originate and underwrite short-term commercial real estate bridge loans in the private credit market.

  • Adaptive6 secured $28 million in Series A funding to automate and optimize cloud infrastructure management, helping enterprises dynamically adapt cloud environments in real time.

A Concentrated Yet Diverse Funding Landscape

While January’s funding volume was heavily skewed by one AI infrastructure mega-deal, the broader top 10 reveals a diversified innovation landscape across MEAPT.

From sovereign AI infrastructure and AI-native banking to cloud automation, digital document intelligence, mobility fintech, and cybersecurity, capital is flowing toward platforms enabling digital transformation, financial inclusion, and infrastructure modernization across the region.
