Israel M&A: What is the Trend in Transactions Through the Years?

Despite its relatively small size – Israel is roughly equivalent to the size of the country of Wales or the state of New Jersey in the US, and has a population similar to the United Arab Emirates at 9.2 million inhabitants.
For this, Israel deserves a special mention as the number of M&A transactions exceed 1,100 since 2017.
From 2017 to 2019, Israel witnessed more than 200 transactions each year.
Even 2020 and 2021 witnessed 191 deals both years, despite these years largely being pandemic years.
Deals in 2022 show a slightly slow start, with only 66 transactions executed thus far, half way through the year.
