Most international travel is driven by Leisure Tourism, for recreation and holidays, which accounted for 55% of all travel in 2019 (which grew from 53% in 2016). The next largest segment was VFR (visiting friends and family), health and religious tourism – which accounted for 28% of all global travel in 2019.
