The United Arab Emirates is the 34th largest and wealthiest economy in the world.
It’s GDP in 2021 was US$ 410 billion which makes it the 4th wealthiest economy in the MENA region behind Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Iran.
The UAE also had the largest number of transactions at 645 versus the rest in the GCC which saw a significantly lower number of transactions from January 2017 till present.
In total, there were 602 majority sale M&A transactions; this is when a majority stake (>50%) of one entity is bought out by another entity.
