Germany grew from 294,368 EVs in 2019 to 689,000 in 2020, and then reached 1.37 million EVs by the end of 2021. Unlike in the United States, EV adoption in Germany is more evenly distributed across its 10 states, with the top 3 states playing home to half of all EVs in the country, each with double-digit EV market share.
